Both the common cold and flu-like illness are spread by inhaling airborne viruses after an infected individual sneezes or coughs. When cold viruses enter the nose, they attach to the nasal lining, where they multiply and spread, triggering the body’s immune response. This results in symptoms such as sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, fever, headache or coughing. As the viruses continue to multiply and spread, cold symptoms develop further. Lemsip First Action™ nasal spray contains Carragelose and kappa-Carrageenan, which forms a shielding layer on the surface of the nasal mucosa and helps trap viruses. It is clinically proven to help shorten the duration of cold and flu-like symptoms by up to 2 days, when used at 1st signs.
At present, no other side effects besides very rare cases of allergic reaction are known. Studies on how this product interacts with other products have not been performed. Interactions between this product and others are not known. Seek advice if using other medication.
Product contains Sorbitol, which is a source of fructose. If your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), a rare genetic disorder in which a person cannot break down fructose, talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medicine
Lemsip First Action nasal spray is a medical device and Carragelose is not absorbed by the nasal mucosa. Any serious incident that occurs from the use of Lemsip First Action should be reported to the manufacturer and the competent authority in your country.
For hygiene reasons and to avoid transmission of pathogens, one Lemsip First Action nasal spray should always be used by one and the same person. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
If a fever occurs and/or symptoms persist for more than one week, you should consult a pharmacist or doctor.
How to store Lemsip Cold & Flu Nasal Spray
Store between 5° and 30°C. Protect from sunlight.
Salt solution with 1.2mg/ml Carragelose and 0.4mg/ml kappa-Carrageenan, 70mg sorbitol, sodium chloride, EDTA, citrate-phosphate buffer and purified water.
